Reduce your bills

Hints & Tips

Asda Gas & Electricity, save up to £222

Reduce your bills ^

  • Insulating your cavity walls could be one of the biggest energy savings. Reducing heat loss through the walls by up to 60 per cent could save you up to £90 each year.
  • Replacing an old boiler could save you a third on your fuel bills and between £100 and £120 a year on your energy bills if you choose a condensing boiler.
  • Your water stays hot longer, and you waste less energy heating it, if you insulate your hot water cylinder. Fitting a jacket to your hot water tank can save you around £20 a year.
  • Using a 40³C wash cycle rather than 60³C means you use a third less electricity. Modern washing powders and detergents work just as effectively at lower temperatures for your average wash.
  • You can buy energy efficient light bulbs at ASDA. These could save you £7 a year on your energy bill, or £60 over the bulb's lifetime.
  • When using your dishwasher or washing machine, it's better to wait for a full load, or use the economy cycle if your machine has one.
