Who provides Asda Breakdown Cover?

Asda Breakdown Cover is provided by Britannia Rescue, who have achieved Which? Best Buy status five times in six years.  As part of the Liverpool Victoria group of companies, they have almost 450 agents nationwide providing over 3,000 roadside technicians on call 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Why should I choose Asda Breakdown Cover?

With Asda, you can choose from three different levels of cover.

Our roadside cover is just £25 – which is cheaper than the RAC and AA. For £73.92, you can also be covered at home as well as by the roadside – with the reassurance of nationwide recovery, onward travel, a hire car and overnight accommodation if you need it.

And if you travel to Europe, then our European cover for £128.92 will keep you mobile in over 40 European countries.

How can I pay for Asda Breakdown Cover?

You can pay online for your cover by a continuous or non continuous payment method – either by debit card or credit card.

Or you can arrange payment by calling 0800 202 8188†. With full Asda Breakdown Cover and Asda European Breakdown Cover you also have the option to pay by monthly instalments – and there’s no additional interest fee.

What do I need to do if I breakdown?

Call us on the 24 hour emergency breakdown number: 0800 202 8100.  We’ll make sure you’re ok and then we’ll help you get back on the road.  If you’ve had an accident, please ring your insurance company first.

 

How long will I have to wait if I breakdown?

We aim to attend every breakdown within one hour although our current average response time is around 40 minutes#.  Britannia’s Control Room staff will advise you if their agents are delayed.

If I breakdown, do you fix my car or tow me to a garage?

If your car breaks down we will attempt to fix the problem at the side of the road to make your onward journey as quick and safe as possible. If not, your car and passengers will be taken to a local garage for repairs.

Do I pay for parts?

The policyholder is responsible for the cost of any parts or petrol etc, which should be paid to the agent.

Do you charge for callouts and are there any limits to the number of callouts in a year?

There are no charges for callouts. With Asda Roadside Cover there is a limit of 6 callouts a year.  But there are no limits on full Asda Breakdown Cover and Asda European Cover.

Will my spouse / partner / son / daughter be covered if they break down in my car?

Yes, cover is for the vehicle/s insured by the policyholder, no matter who is driving.

Am I covered if I’m driving another car?

Cover is for the insured vehicle only.  You can take out personal cover for just £25 per year extra for Asda Roadside Cover and £45 per year extra for full Asda Breakdown Cover.

Am I covered anywhere in the UK?

Yes, cover is provided throughout the UK (including Northern Island and the Channel Islands) and Republic of Ireland.  We also work with a partner who provides the service across Europe for our European cover option.
