Yes. If you have had some specified serious medical conditions and then die from the same condition, the cover won’t pay out.
The specified conditions are;
- a heart condition

- a stroke or a terminal illness
In addition
- If you have diabetes when you take out the policy, the cover won’t pay out if you die from a heart attack or a stroke.
- If you’re a member of HM armed forces when you take this cover out the cover won’t pay out if you die within 6 months from injuries sustained while on an operational tour of duty outside the UK.
- The cover also won’t pay out if you commit suicide in the first 12 months after taking the cover out.
Finally, if you have a history of alcohol or drug abuse the cover is not suitable for you at all because it will not pay out under any circumstances. The full details of the cover and the exclusions are explained in the Key Facts Document. If you take out the cover, you should read the Welcome pack carefully to check that the cover is right for you.
