Asda Over 50s Life Cover is a simple way to leave your loved ones a guaranteed cash lump sum after you die. Even if you already have cover, it could provide a welcome extra sum to put towards funeral expenses, outstanding debts or just to make their lives easier.
Guaranteed acceptance and no medical
If you’re a UK resident aged between 50 and 80, your application will definitely be accepted without a medical and you won’t be asked any personal questions about your health.
Option to never pay more than you get out
You have the option to pay extra each month to cap your premiums so that you stop paying once the amount you’ve paid reaches your chosen cash lump sum. This means it's guaranteed that you’ll never pay a penny more than you get out. Capped premiums start at £14.59 a month making this affordable life insurance for over 50s.
Full cover after just one year
We think your family should be able to access your full cash lump sum sooner rather than later. So, while many similar plans won’t pay out until you’ve been paying in for at least two years, with Asda Over 50s Life Insurance you’ll receive a guaranteed payout if you die a year or more after your plan starts. However if you die within the first 12 months, depending on your circumstances, the plan may only pay out the premiums you've paid without interest.
Choose how your cover gets paid
You can either have your plan pay out a cash lump sum to your loved ones or that cash lump sum can be put towards your funeral service.
Get 10% extra towards your funeral
Choose the Funeral Benefit option and you could get an extra 10% towards your funeral! So for every £100 of your cash lump sum that you use towards funeral costs, you could receive £110 (up to a maximum of £1,000 extra) towards your funeral when a claim is made, at no extra cost to you. Funeral services are provided by Dignity.
Fixed payments that never go up
It's guaranteed that your monthly payments will never go up. However, if at any point you want to increase the amount you’re covered for and leave your family a little extra when you’re gone, you can call 0800 202 8104* and all the details will be sorted for you. When choosing how much you'd like to pay each month, it's worth bearing in mind that your amount of cover is fixed when your plan starts and doesn't change. This means inflation could reduce the buying power of your cash lump sum.
