Anyone buying a new car from Vauxhall in future will be covered by a warranty for life, the firm has announced.
However the move may not prevent the more cautious Vauxhall driver from continuing to ensure they have breakdown cover.
The deal applies to first-time owners of any of the company's cars registered after August 2010, although they will need to visit a Vauxhall retailer every year for an inspection of their car in order to maintain the warranty's validity.
In another promotion to be announced shortly, the car company said second owners can buy the lifetime warranty.
Vauxhall Motors' Duncan Aldred said: "With the lifetime warranty, we are making a strong statement of confidence in the quality of our products and a clear intent to provide the very best customer service in the UK."
