Millions more UK householders are set to face higher energy bills in the months to come, after Npower announced it was raising its prices.
Gas and electricity costs are due to go up by 15.7% and 7.2% respectively from the start of October for those on average tariffs, according to the firm.
In light of this announcement, the company's average monthly dual-fuel customer paying by direct debit could soon be hit with a bill increase of 12.2%. This translates as an additional payment of £134 annually.
A number of other UK energy providers have opted to raise their gas and electricity prices in recent months, with Scottish and Southern Energy, Scottish Power, British Gas and E.ON all hiking their rates.
EDF is the last of the 'big six' energy providers to reveal details of its price changes.
