A sudden rise in home insurance claims for broken glass is expected from sport-crazy homeowners is anticipated by insurers.
Greenhouses, conservatories, sheds and house windows are all at risk from rogue footballs as the World Cup kicks off in South Africa.
During the World Cup in Germany four years ago insurers saw a 25% rise in claims for smashed windows.
And almost always the finger of blame was pointed at children. The average cost of these claims was a staggering £600.
Most home insurance policies cover smashed glass, as it comes under accidental damage.
And with the next tournament days away, they predict enthusiastic footballers could cause another wave of claims.
