Police recover rare stolen puppies

A litter of rare American Bulldog puppies has been reunited with its owner after being taken from a house in Birmingham.

The ten pups were just four weeks old when they were stolen from a property in the Perry Bar area of the city on July 23.

A total of 12 puppies were stolen from the address in Wensleydale Road - highlighting the importance of taking out pet insurance cover to provide additional peace of mind in the event of such an incident.

West Midlands Police said two of the puppies had been brought into Sutton police station following an appeal in a local newspaper.

The woman who returned the dogs said a man had given them to her daughter last month.

Meanwhile, the eight other puppies were recovered after being offered to an RSPCA rescue centre in Walsall.

The remaining two puppies have not yet been found.

Lee Dawson from West Midlands Police said: "We are really pleased to have returned these puppies to their rightful owner.

"These dogs were stolen at a critical time in their development as they were still suckling from their mother and hadn't had any injections."
