The number of people looking for car insurance cover is likely to rise after latest figures showed that van and truck registrations were on the increase.
Van and truck registrations posted an annual growth of 15.9% during 2010, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
This figure should spark interest in firms selling car insurance cover.
SMTT boss Paul Everitt said the figures show that the van manufacturing industry is recovering from the recession and he described last year as "one of the best ever" for the sector.
The number of van registrations only failed to increase in one of the months throughout 2010 as improved output from the construction sector boosted business confidence. Trucks ended the year level with 2009 following quick growth in the second half of 2010.
Everitt said: ""While we still have a long way to go to get volumes back to pre-recession levels, we expect more growth in 2011 and 2012."
