ASDA and AIG Life have teamed up with Dignity, one of the largest funeral providers in the UK. With ASDA Over 50s Life Cover all funeral services are provided by Dignity.

Taking out the Funeral Benefit option couldn't be easier

To take out the Funeral Benefit option, simply complete the relevant section when you apply to 'charge' your cash lump sum to Dignity. 'Charge' is the term we use to describe the process which allows your cash lump sum to be paid to Dignity and used towards your funeral costs.

What else do I need to know?

The Funeral Benefit option is designed specifically to help pay towards funeral costs. If your funeral costs less than your cash lump sum, the difference will be given back to your loved ones. If your funeral costs more than your cash lump sum then your estate will simply pay the difference. With the Funeral Benefit option there's no set up charge, no application fee and no hidden costs. Plus, if you decide the funeral benefit option isn't right for you, you can change your mind at any time.

How does the ASDA Funeral Benefit work?

  • 1. You 'charge' your cash lump sum (the 'sum assured') to Dignity
  • 2. Your loved ones arrange your funeral with the local Dignity funeral director using your cash lump sum (including the extra 10%)
  • 3. The Dignity Funeral Director that your family uses will be paid automatically from your cash lump sum.
  • 4. If your cash lump sum is greater than the cost of the funeral then the difference will be paid into your estate. If the cost of the funeral is greater than your cash lump sum then your estate will simply pay the difference.

^Your Gift Card will be sent to you within 28 days of us receiving the first payment you make into your plan. We reserve the right to replace the ASDA Gift Card with another gift of equal value and quality if necessary. Only one £30 Gift Card per individual customer. ASDA reserve the right to change or withdraw the offer at any time.
